A bold square tray with rounded corners, a glossy black border, and a richly patterned red-and-black surface.
This large square board features a substantial flat form with softly rounded corners, a raised black edge, and a dramatic mottled red-and-black face with a glossy finish. The reverse is finished in plain black, creating a clean contrast between the decorative top and the simpler underside. At 30 inches square, the scale and construction are well suited to use as a large tray or kotatsu top board, with a presence that also makes it appealing as a decorative surface or interior accent.
The patterned face has an organic swirling effect that gives the piece strong visual character, while the broad black border frames the design with a crisp silhouette. Leaned upright, it reads almost like a panel; laid flat, it functions as a substantial tabletop surface. Its versatility and generous proportions make it easy to incorporate into vintage-inspired, Japandi, or eclectic interiors.
A striking vintage Japanese board with strong graphic presence and practical scale.
We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.
All vintage items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
