Japanese Style Media Chest

This custom-order reference example is shown for inspiration and is not available for purchase.

Overview

SKU # 190504 is a Japanese style media chest made in Fir Wood with a Light Teak Finish. The documented measurements are 38”W x 18”D x 74 1/2”H. The design combines cabinet storage behind sliding lattice-style doors with lower drawers, creating a compact furniture form suited to media use while drawing on Japanese tansu-inspired detailing.

The front presents two wide sliding door panels above a row of smaller drawers fitted with dark metal hardware. Its broad top and low chest form work well beneath or near a television, while the slatted door treatment gives the piece a distinctly Japanese look.

Design Details

This reference piece features a warm, light teak-toned finish over fir wood construction. The cabinet front is organized with two sliding upper panels and multiple lower drawers, visually balanced by simple framing and traditional-style pulls. The horizontal slat pattern across the doors adds texture while keeping the overall appearance clean and architectural.
