Japanese Style Media Chest
This custom-order reference example is a Japanese style media chest with a documented size of 48”W x 20”D x 20”H, made of fir wood with a teak finish. The pictured piece is shown here for reference and inspiration and is not available for purchase.
Its low, horizontal form suits media storage and display, while the front features two large lattice-style panel doors that give the cabinet a distinctly Japanese-inspired look. The broad top, clean rectilinear case, and solid side framing create a substantial furniture profile appropriate for a media room or living space.
Design Details
The front elevation emphasizes symmetry, with two wide door panels divided by a central stile. The lattice fronts introduce texture and ventilation-friendly visual openness, while the overhanging top and strong base rails reinforce the chest-like silhouette. Dark metal accents on the top add a subtle decorative detail.
As a media chest, this form is designed to keep electronics or related items enclosed while maintaining an orderly appearance. The Japanese style influence is expressed through the balanced proportions, grid-front panels, and straightforward architectural lines.
