Japanese Tansu Style Media Chest

SKU#: 110504

This Japanese tansu style media chest is documented as being made of solid elm wood with a natural finish. The long, low cabinet format suits media storage and display, while the tansu-inspired front gives it a distinctly Japanese furniture character. In plain English, tansu refers to traditional Japanese cabinetry and chests known for practical compartmentalized storage and a strong architectural presence.

The photographed example shows a broad top above a mixed-front arrangement with sliding-style upper compartments and four lower drawers fitted with dark metal pull handles. The front combines narrow slatted panels and a small grid-pattern door panel, details that reinforce the Japanese style noted in the documented description.
