Description

Chinese Style Console Chest

This custom-order reference example shows a Chinese style console chest with a documented ash wood construction and dark mahogany finish. The pictured piece is not available for purchase; it is presented as a permanent Eastern Classics reference page for design inspiration and product information.

With its long rectangular top, two cabinet doors, graduated center drawers, and two wide upper drawers, this console chest combines storage with a clean, architectural presence suited to a hallway, dining area, or kitchen setting. The dark finish is paired with warm brass-tone hardware, including ring pulls and decorative door plates, giving the piece a balanced look that is both practical and refined.

Design Details

The front elevation is organized symmetrically, with paneled doors at each side and a vertical stack of smaller drawers in the center. The broad top drawers help anchor the cabinet visually, while the substantial overhanging top and shaped side brackets add definition to the silhouette. The hardware placement and paneled construction support its use as a console chest designed for enclosed storage.
