Vintage Japanese Kutani Porcelain Vase by Tokuda Yasokichi with Tomobako, Late Showa 1966-1989 | SKU: 26J-0693-2
A signed Kutani porcelain vase with vivid flowing overglaze colors, rounded form, and original wooden tomobako.
This Japanese Kutani porcelain vase presents a compact, nearly spherical body with a very small upright neck and a finely finished foot. Its glossy surface is richly decorated with flowing bands of deep blue, turquoise, green, amber, and white over a dark lower register, creating a dramatic sense of movement across the rounded form. The base bears a red painted signature, and the vase is accompanied by a fitted wooden tomobako inscribed in calligraphy with an artist's seal, reinforcing its presentation as a collectible studio work.
Its sculptural silhouette makes it especially effective as a display piece on a shelf, console, or cabinet, where the reflective glaze and concentrated color can be appreciated from multiple angles. The opening is quite small, so it is best suited to decorative display or a very minimal single-stem arrangement. With its original tomobako, it also makes an appealing gift for collectors of Japanese ceramics and Kutani ware.
