Vintage Kutani Porcelain Vase by Tokuda Yasokichi with Tomobako, Late Showa | SKU: 26J-0419
A richly glazed Kutani porcelain vase with original signed tomobako, attributed by signature to Tokuda Yasokichi.
This elegant Japanese porcelain vase features a rounded, gently swelling body with a short neck and softly flared rim, finished in a luminous high-gloss glaze. The surface moves from a deep aubergine-purple lower body into flowing bands of turquoise, blue, pale lavender, and yellow across the shoulder and neck, creating a vivid, atmospheric effect associated with Kutani studio porcelain. The base bears a red painted signature mark, and the vase is accompanied by its fitted wooden tomobako storage box with brush-written inscription on the lid, adding to its presentation and collector appeal.
In a modern home, this vintage Japanese vase works beautifully as a display piece on a shelf, console, or cabinet, where its saturated color and sculptural silhouette can be appreciated even without flowers. Its compact size also suits a small ikebana-style arrangement or a single stem. Presented with its tomobako, it makes a distinctive choice for collectors of Japanese ceramics and decorative arts.
