Overview

This custom-order wall mount chest is a Japanese tansu style hanging cabinet designed for compact storage. The documented specifications list fir wood construction, a honey finish, and overall measurements of 36”W x 8”D x 24”H. The front features two sliding glass-panel doors with a simple geometric wood lattice that gives the piece a clean, architectural look suitable for a bathroom, hallway, or other narrow wall space.

Design Details

In Japanese furniture, tansu is a broad term for cabinetry and storage chests. Here, the style is adapted into a wall-mounted format, combining the practical depth of a shallow cabinet with the visual lightness of glazed sliding doors. The warm honey-toned finish and rectilinear frame emphasize the understated, functional character associated with tansu-inspired storage.

The glass doors allow contents to remain partially visible while still enclosed, and the recessed pulls preserve the cabinet's streamlined face. Its shallow depth supports use in tighter interiors where floor space is limited.
