A compact antique Japanese wooden towel rack with a simple iko-style silhouette and warm, timeworn character.

This freestanding towel rack is a small-scale Japanese utility stand dating to the Taisho period (1912-1926). Crafted in wood with a dark aged surface, it has a restrained open-frame form with gently upturned ends on the top rail, a secondary horizontal bar below, and sturdy trestle-like feet for stability. Its modest height and narrow profile suit hand towels or small cloths, while the clean lines give it an understated decorative presence.
