This is a beautifully crafted vintage Japanese saisenbako (offering box or donation chest), traditionally used at temples or shrines to collect monetary offerings. Made from solid Keyaki (Japanese Zelkova) wood with a warm, aged patina, this piece features authentic iron hardware, including a heavy hinged lock plate secured with a vibrant red cloth knot—an aesthetic nod to traditional Japanese design and symbolism.
