Vintage Japanese Copper Kashiki Sweet Dish with Inaho Motif, Late Showa 1966-1989 | SKU: 26J-0197-3

A vintage Japanese copper kashiki with softly scalloped rim, engraved inaho motif, and an inscribed wooden storage box.

This shallow copper kashiki (菓子器) is a refined serving vessel for sweets, shaped with a gentle flower-like outline and finished in a warm golden-brown tone. The interior is decorated with an engraved inaho motif, showing bowed rice ears and long leaves, accompanied by scattered round accents across the basin. A small impressed seal is visible near the design, and the dish is accompanied by its fitted wooden storage box with brushed inscription on the lid. The overall form is low and open, making it well suited for presentation as well as display.

In a modern home, this vintage Japanese sweet dish can be used for wagashi or wrapped confections when entertaining, or displayed as a decorative metalwork piece on a shelf, cabinet, or low table. Its quiet harvest motif and softly patinated copper surface give it an understated presence that works beautifully in Japandi, wabi-sabi, and traditional-inspired interiors.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer vintage pieces that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
