The front face and sides share the same warm auburn tone, while the unfinished back panel reveals a lighter secondary wood typical of Japanese cabinet construction of this era, offering a glimpse into the honest joinery beneath the polished exterior. Softly rounded corner moldings frame the carcass and give the piece a refined, tactile quality consistent with skilled Japanese antique furniture craftsmanship of the postwar period.
