Vintage Japanese Shrine Cabinet Altar Chest With Double Doors, Wood, Showa Era (SKU 25D-G008)
Simple Showa-era shrine cabinet with warm wood grain and understated metalwork
This vintage Japanese wooden cabinet echoes the clean lines of a compact cabinet, with tall double doors and a discreet plinth base. The exterior is finished in a mellow medium-brown tone that highlights the straight grain, giving it a calm, architectural presence suited to both traditional and modern interiors.
Inside, the cabinet offers an open, unpartitioned space ideal for use as a small altar chest, storage for tea utensils, incense and candles, or as a minimal side cabinet in an entryway or study. A shaped iron latch and escutcheon add a subtle decorative accent, while the overall design remains characteristically Japanese in its restraint.
