Handwoven Showa-era style basket with sculptural handle and warm, time-softened patina

This tall, oval-bodied vintage Japanese basket is woven in tight, rhythmic rows that speak to the quiet precision of mid-20th-century craft. The gently swelling form rises to an asymmetric, softly scooped rim, giving the piece a relaxed, organic silhouette that feels at home in both wabi-sabi and contemporary interiors.

A boldly braided handle crowns the piece, its criss-crossed strands adding a sculptural counterpoint to the finely worked body.
