Vintage Japanese Kamidana Shinto Shrine, Showa Era (SKU 25D-314-4)
Showa-era kamidana miniature shrine with warm natural wood and finely stepped entrance
This vintage Japanese Shinto shrine, or kamidana, is crafted in light natural wood with a serene, unvarnished finish that recalls the purity of traditional shrine architecture. The façade features sliding double doors framed by carved transom details and small chrysanthemum-like rosettes, evoking the refined joinery of mid-Showa household altars.
A raised veranda with twin stairways, balustrades, and a tiered roofline crowned by stylized chigi and katsuogi give this piece strong presence while remaining compact enough for display on a shelf or alcove. Ideal as a functioning kamidana for enshrining an ofuda, or as a decorative accent for a wabi-sabi or Japan-inspired interior, it offers an authentic glimpse into everyday Shinto practice.
