This vintage Japanese haribako is a traditional sewing chest designed for organizing needlework tools and small supplies. The form combines several front drawers with a hinged top that opens to a compartmented interior, an arrangement well suited to sewing accessories, thread, notions, and other small household items. The front displays dramatic figured wood grain, while the sides and top show a more linear grain pattern that adds warmth and contrast. Dark metal bail pulls with decorative backplates complete the practical, handcrafted character of the piece.
