Showa-era ko tansu with striking tamo wood grain and elegant gunbai-style pulls.
This compact vintage Japanese ko tansu is crafted with a spectacular tamo (ash) veneer, its surface alive with a dramatic, rippling grain that catches the light from every angle. The clean, rectilinear form is softened by gently aged metal hardware, creating a refined balance between bold natural pattern and understated design.
A practical small chest with multi-sized drawers, it offers organized storage for stationery, accessories, or cherished objects while sitting comfortably on a desk, low shelf, or floor in the traditional manner. The gunbai-style drawer pulls and key escutcheons reference classic tansu construction, making this piece an ideal accent for interiors that appreciate authentic Japanese craftsmanship and timeless Showa sensibility.
A beautifully grained ko tansu that brings authentic Japanese character and functional charm to any space.
All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
