A striking vintage Japanese bamboo ikebana piece with an architectural cutout form and warm natural patina.
Handcrafted from a thick section of bamboo, this sculptural flower holder has a tall cylindrical body, a broad cut opening through the upper section, and a small round side aperture near the top. The top is deeply hollowed, while the lower section forms a second recessed chamber, creating a dramatic asymmetrical silhouette that feels both organic and modern. Natural nodes, darkened markings, and the root end at the base give the piece strong wabi-sabi character and emphasize the beauty of the original material.
Its compact footprint and vertical form make it especially appealing for ikebana-inspired display, a single stem arrangement, or use as a decorative bamboo accent in a shelf, entryway, or tabletop composition. The graphic openwork profile and mellow honey-brown tone pair beautifully with Japandi, rustic modern, and traditional Japanese interiors.
A sculptural and tactile example of vintage Japanese bamboo craft, well suited to collectors and lovers of natural-form decorative objects.
We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.
