Antique Japanese Ko Tansu Small Chest With Multi Sized Warabite Pull Drawers (SKU 25D-G016)

Compact Taishō-era ko tansu with beautifully graduated drawers and classic warabite pulls.

This antique Japanese ko tansu (small chest) is a finely crafted storage piece, likely made for personal documents and accessories. The warm, honey-toned wood case is reinforced with corner ironwork, while the front is organized in a vertical stack of drawers, including a charming pair of smaller drawers above a deep base drawer for more precious items.

Traditional warabite-style iron pulls unify the design, their soft curves contrasting with the clean, rectilinear joinery at the case edges. The interiors reveal clean, pale wood with visible grain, reflecting the practical elegance of early 20th-century Japanese cabinetry and making this ko tansu ideal as a bedside chest, desk organizer, or display accent in a modern interior.
