This vintage Japanese umbrella, or wagasa, features a striking red, tan, and indigo design with bold calligraphy and illustrated figures across the paper canopy. The traditional bamboo frame and central cap remain intact, giving the piece a strong decorative presence.
Likely from the Showa period, it reflects the graphic charm of mid-century Japanese craft and festival décor. The surface shows visible creasing, toning, and small losses consistent with age, adding to its authentic patina and display appeal.
