Vintage Japanese Vase With Tsuru Crane Motif (SKU 25D-408-4)
Showa-era celadon vase with delicate flying crane motif
This elegant vintage Japanese vase is finished in a soft blue-green celadon glaze, its surface alive with fine, intentional crazing that adds depth and character. The slender neck flares gently at the rim, rising from a rounded body that sits securely on a small foot, recalling classic tokkuri and bud-vase forms of mid-20th-century Japan.
Around the body, lightly painted white cranes in flight circle the vessel, their wings and beaks picked out with simple black brushwork. In Japanese art, the crane (tsuru) symbolizes longevity and good fortune, making this Showa-era piece an auspicious accent for an alcove, sideboard, or minimal wabi-sabi interior, whether displayed alone or holding a single seasonal stem.
