A compact folding towel rack in black-finished wood, with a clean open-frame silhouette and sculptural lines.
This vintage Japanese towel rack is made in an iko-style folding form, with two narrow panels joined by central hinges so it can stand open or fold flat for storage. Each side features a gently upturned top rail, slim vertical supports, and horizontal bars that create practical hanging space while keeping the piece visually light. Low sled-style feet and solid lower panels help stabilize the frame. Its compact scale makes it especially suitable for hand towels or small textiles.
In a contemporary home, this handcrafted rack works well in a bath, dressing area, or guest room for airing towels, washcloths, or lightweight fabrics. The simple black finish and linear profile also lend it a decorative presence when displayed with a favorite textile or used as a small accent in a Japandi or minimalist interior. Functional and easy to place, it brings vintage Japanese character to everyday use.
A practical vintage accent that pairs everyday function with the understated elegance of Japanese design.
We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.
All vintage items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
