Vintage Japanese Tachi-kake Style Sword Stand, Late Showa 1966-1989 | SKU: 26J-0684
A compact black stand with a round base, gently tapering upright, and forked top rest in the tachi-kake style for displaying a sword.
This vintage Japanese stand is made in a tachi-kake style associated with sword display. Its form is simple and functional: a circular weighted base supports a single upright that rises with a slight curve, reinforced at the lower section by shaped side braces. At the top, a forked cradle provides a resting point suitable for the hilt or upper section of a mounted sword display. The dark finish and clean silhouette give it a restrained presence that works well in both traditional and modern interiors.
Today, this piece makes a distinctive display accessory for collectors of Japanese arms, militaria, and decorative arts. It can be used as a compact sword stand on a shelf, cabinet, or tabletop, while also serving as a sculptural accent when not in use. Its bold profile, glossy dark surface, and practical form make it an appealing addition to a study, living room, or collection display.
