This vintage Japanese soroban (算盤) captures the quiet discipline of mid-20th-century bookkeeping. Crafted in warm-toned wood with sharply faceted beads on metal rods, it shows the gentle patina of daily use while retaining the crisp geometry that makes traditional Japanese abaci so visually striking.

The frame is joined at the corners with small wooden keys, and the reverse bears bold hand-brushed kanji, adding a personal touch from its original owner.
