This small vintage Japanese hikidashi is made in a classic tabletop form with three front compartments and a warm brown wood exterior marked by strong, flowing grain. The case has a simple rectangular body, a slightly projecting molded top, and a low plinth base. Each front is fitted with a dark metal pull with ornamental shaping, giving the piece a traditional decorative accent.

One of the inner compartments is fitted with a concealed storage area: a fitted insert lifts out to reveal an additional hidden space beneath, and a small pair of pegs at the front suggests a simple release or support mechanism. This feature gives the piece added intrigue while preserving its practical tabletop scale.
