This compact Japanese cabinet features a rectilinear wood case with a stepped plinth base, parquetry veneer across the front panels, and mixed metal hardware. The face is arranged with three sliding compartments on the left and upper section, paired with a small hinged door at lower right fitted with a decorative brass-tone escutcheon. The parquetry pattern combines small geometric wood pieces in varied warm tones, creating a lively patchwork effect against the darker surrounding frame. Side cutout handles reinforce its portable tabletop form, while the plain wood sides and top give the piece a practical, utilitarian balance.

At just over thirteen inches wide, this vintage Japanese cabinet is well suited to use on a desk, shelf, dresser, or countertop.
