Vintage Japanese Shinto Shrine Yashiro Omiya Kamidana (23O-431)

This is a vintage Japanese Shinto Shrine called Yashiro, Omiya, or Kamidana made of  Cryptomeria (Suginoki) wood from mid.1900's.

This was expertly hand crafted in full detail. The ceiling has expert architectural craftsmanship and the design is a scaled down version of a full sized shrine.

Shinto shrines were often used in Japanese homes to present offerings to the Gods. They can also be seen in neighborhood corners where residents and families donated to the construction and placement of these shrines for all to worship and enjoy.
