Showa-era Japanese dressing mirror chest with tansu-inspired storage

This vintage kyōdai (tabletop dressing mirror) captures the warmth and practicality of mid-Showa interiors. The tilting rectangular mirror is framed in rich reddish-brown wood and secured with dark metal corner brackets, echoing traditional tansu hardware while offering a clean, modern 1980s silhouette.

Beneath the mirror sits a compact chest with two drawers and a small side cupboard, ideal for organizing cosmetics, jewelry, or tea-ceremony accessories. Black iron-style fittings, red-lined drawer interiors, and the low, boxy form give this piece a distinctly Japanese character, making it a functional accent for a vanity, entry console, or bedside in any wabi-sabi or Showa-era inspired space.
