Vintage Japanese Kyodai Mirror, 1940s, Showa Era (SKU 25D-375-1)
Showa-era Japanese tri-fold vanity mirror with compact storage base
This vintage Japanese mirror is a beautifully engineered kyōdai style vanity from the mid-Showa period, combining clean modernist lines with the warmth of richly figured wood grain. The upright tri-fold mirror section pivots and opens to reveal three beveled glass panels, allowing for versatile angles while grooming or arranging hair.
Beneath, a low rectangular base houses three smoothly sliding drawers, ideal for organizing cosmetics, combs, and small accessories. When the mirror wings are folded flat, the piece becomes a compact chest, making it easy to place atop a tansu, dresser, or directly on tatami in a traditional Japanese interior.
