This is a vintage Japanese large wooden standing uddhist Daruma Monk figurine that depicts the Bodhidharma, a legendary Buddhist monk who is considered the founder of Zen Buddhism from Taisho period (1910's-1920's). Daruma Monks are often depicted as bald, bearded, and wearing a red robe, with their arms folded and their legs crossed.
