Vintage Japanese Lacquered Tray (SKU 25D-230-1)
Showa-era kuro-urushi serving stand with elegant vine and berry maki-e
This vintage Japanese lacquered tray is raised on four graceful legs, recalling the traditional oshiki or personal serving stand used in formal kaiseki and celebratory dining. The deep black kuro-urushi surface is framed by a subtle gilt rim, drawing the eye toward the refined central motif.
Delicate vines meander across the glossy field, their autumnal leaves rendered in shimmering gold and earthy tones, accented by bright red berries in fine maki-e work. Ideal as a functional tea or sweets tray, or displayed as a low table on an alcove shelf, it brings an understated Showa-period elegance to both Japanese and contemporary interiors.
