Vintage Japanese Kyodai Mirror, 1960s, Showa Era (SKU 25D-405-3)

Showa-era vermilion kyōdai with drawer and delicate floral inlay

This charming vintage Japanese kyōdai (table-top dressing mirror) features a warm vermilion-red lacquer finish and an oval tilting mirror supported by turned wooden posts. The compact base houses a practical pull-out drawer, originally used for kanzashi hairpins and small accessories, making it an ideal accent for a tansu chest, vanity, or tokonoma display.

Mother-of-pearl style inlay in the form of sakura-like blossoms and heart-shaped petals adds a gentle feminine touch typical of mid-Showa design. The lacquer shows light wear, small chips along the edges, and a darkened spot on the top surface, all consistent with age and everyday use, enhancing its wabi-sabi character while preserving its nostalgic 1960s Showa-era charm.
