This is a vintage Japanese personal storage chest called Ko Tansu from Taisho period (1910's-1920's). It was used to store letters, documents, books and other items for daily use. Made of Paulownia (Kirinoki) wood and persimmon wood on the front frame trim
Contemporary uses for this piece include placement on a desk for additional office storage. using this as an elegant side table or placing this next to the bed to act as a functional bedside stand.
