This is a 2 section vintage Japanese stacking chest called Kiri Kasane Tansu from Taisho period (1910's-1920's). It is made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Originally used for kimono storage, it would make a great contemporary dresser or linen cabinet.
Each section can be used separately for versatility or stacked together to save space.
