This floor-standing example rises on a slender wrought iron shaft -- partly twisted along its lower section -- topped with a flat circular drip pan and a central pricket spike for securing the candle. Scrolled iron collars near the top of the shaft add visual rhythm and reflect the handcrafted Japanese metalwork traditions of the early Showa period.
