Showa-era hibachi table with integrated copper kettle set and warm, swirling wood grain
This vintage Japanese hibachi table, or irori-bako, is crafted with a richly figured wood case whose dramatic swirling grain has been brought out by a lustrous warm-toned finish. The recessed central well houses a removable copper brazier insert and matching kettles, recalling the intimate hearths of traditional Showa-era homes where tea, sake, and conversation were shared around the fire.
Practical drawer storage, side carry-handles, and original metal pulls make this a functional statement piece for today’s interiors. Used as a low table, tea station, or sculptural focal point, it brings authentic Japanese character, subtle patina, and the quiet presence of a well-loved vintage copper trivet and brazier ensemble to any space.
Sake bottles and tea set are not included.
A handsome Showa-era hibachi that unites sculptural wood, glowing copper, and everyday functionality in one timeless Japanese centerpiece.
We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.
All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
