Vintage Japanese Bamboo Basket (SKU 25D-149)
Showa-era Japanese bamboo basket with sculptural angled form and integrated stand.
This vintage Japanese basket features a striking conical body, tightly woven in rich, dark-stained bamboo. Designed to rest at an angle on its own stand, it recalls traditional farm and foraging baskets while presenting as a refined object for the tokonoma or modern interior.
Two arched bamboo supports frame the vessel, echoing the rhythm of the diagonal weave and giving the piece a light, architectural presence. Whether used as an ikebana basket for sculptural flower arrangements or displayed empty as a piece of mingei folk craft, it brings an authentic Showa-period warmth and character to any space.
