Carved in relief from a single upright stone, this vintage Japanese figure presents a standing Jizo set against a pointed back slab. The figure is rendered in a simple folk style, with softly rounded head and shoulders, gently indicated robe, and a compact front-facing stance rising from an integral base. The reverse remains rough and largely unworked, preserving the natural shape of the stone. Areas of surface wear, mineral variation, and lichen-like spotting contribute to the subdued, wabi-sabi character of the piece.
