Japanese Hanging Scroll – Mount Fuji (0220-3)

Dated: 丙寅年初夏 (Early Summer, Fire Tiger Year – 1926)

Ink landscape depicting Mount Fuji beyond a calm coastal bay, with layered mist, distant sails, and a foreground of rocky cliffs and wind-shaped pines sheltering a small village. The composition reflects late literati-style landscape traditions, emphasizing atmospheric depth and restrained brushwork.

Executed in monochrome ink with subtle wash gradation. Traditional silk brocade mounting.

Date: 1926 (Taishō 15 / early Shōwa transition year).

Condition: Upper mounting section shows water staining and discoloration; painting area with scattered foxing consistent with age. Structurally stable.
