This pottery statue of 合和二仙 (Gōwa Erxian) depicts two jovial, laughing immortals, a popular symbol of harmony and unity in Chinese culture. The statue is rendered in rich brown pottery, capturing the warmth and earthiness of the material.
The two immortals are shown in a lively, animated pose, both smiling broadly as they read from a scroll or script, possibly representing wisdom or shared knowledge. Their cheerful expressions and relaxed body language embody the ideals of friendship, cooperation, and balance. The statue’s attention to detail in the characters’ facial features and the fluidity of their robes further enhances its artistic charm.
