Vintage Japanese Uzumaki Design Wagasa Umbrella (0M-626-3)

Striking red-and-cream wagasa with a bold concentric pattern and refined gold accents

This vintage Japanese parasol showcases the elegant structure of a traditional wagasa, with finely spaced bamboo ribs supporting a vividly patterned paper canopy. The red and ivory concentric bands create a strong graphic presence, making it especially appealing as a decorative display piece.

Viewed from the underside, the umbrella reveals attractive craftsmanship details, including lacquered wood fittings and touches of gold foil near the hub. The surface shows age-related wear and natural toning consistent with vintage use, adding to its authentic character.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer antiques that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
