A vintage metal tsuba is a Japanese sword guard that dates back to the pre-modern era. It is made of metal, typically iron or bronze, and features intricate designs and patterns, often reflecting the cultural and historical context of the time period in which it was made. Tsubas were originally used to protect the hand from sliding onto the blade during combat and have since become highly valued as works of art and collectibles. A vintage metal tsuba can be a beautiful and unique addition to any collection of Japanese swords or traditional art. From late Meiji period (1890's-1910's).
