Antique Japanese Haribako Sewing Box, Wood (SKU 25S-237-2)
Finely grained antique haribako with multiple drawers for sewing tools and cherished smalls.
This compact Japanese haribako (sewing chest) is crafted from richly figured wood, its front panels displaying a dramatic, almost rippling grain that catches the light. The façade is organized into a harmonious arrangement of drawers, each fitted with simple iron warabite-style pulls that speak to the understated elegance of Taisho and Taishō-era everyday objects.
The top section opens to reveal a shallow compartment ideal for threads, thimbles, and needles, while the graduated drawers below offer practical storage for scissors, notions, and accessories. Beautiful as a tabletop accent or tansu companion piece, this antique sewing box also functions perfectly today as a jewelry chest, desktop organizer, or collector’s storage for small treasures.
