This antique Japanese ko tansu (small chest) is crafted in warm, honey-toned kiri (paulownia) wood with a clean, rectilinear form that reflects early 20th-century taste. Three full-width drawers slide smoothly within a solid case, joined at the corners with traditional dovetail work that remains clearly visible and adds to the piece’s handmade character.

Each drawer is fitted with simplified kanagu hardware: understated iron warabite-style pulls and round lock escutcheons, with a working key to secure the upper section.
