Antique Japanese Ko Tansu (22S-G2)
This is an antique Japanese personal storage chest called Ko Tansu date Middle Meiji period (1880's - 1890's). It was used to store letters, documents, books and other items for daily use. Made of Paulownia wood (Kirinoki) .
The iron fittings were all hand made and the handles are Gunbai style.
Contemporary uses for this piece include placement on a desk for additional office storage or using this as an elegant side table.
