Description

This is an antique Japanese Katana Tansu used to store swords, sword fittings and polishing equipment from middle Meiji period (1880's-1890's). It was made entirely of Paulownia (Kirinoki) wood and the iron fittings were all hand made.

The various drawer widths accommodated differnt tools and supplies.
