Taishō-era style lacquered gong with ornate stand and original beater

This striking antique Japanese gong stand features a vermilion-red frame with gently scrolling kamakura-style ends, edged in worn gilt that speaks to decades of use and careful handling. The black metal gong hangs from a simple hemp cord, its softly domed center designed to produce a clear, resonant tone when struck with the accompanying beater.

Decorative brass applique, carved apron details, and shaped bracket feet evoke Taishō-period taste for theatrical yet refined presentation, making this piece ideal as a tokonoma accent or a focal point in a modern interior.
