Vintage Japanese flower Vase, Showa Era (SKU 25D-267-1)
Showa-era cobalt blue porcelain vase with finely rendered peony design and original signed tomobako
This elegant vintage Japanese vase showcases a deep cobalt blue ground overlaid with delicately shaded white peonies, a classic motif symbolising prosperity and honour in Japanese art. The gently flaring mouth and tapered body highlight the painter’s control of form and balance, while the intricate border patterns at the rim and foot add a refined finishing touch.
Likely produced in the late Showa period, this porcelain piece evokes the tradition of fine sometsuke (blue-and-white) ware while offering a crisp, modern sensibility. It comes housed in its original signed wooden tomobako storage box, making it ideal both as a display centerpiece in a tokonoma or shelf and as a thoughtful gift for collectors of Japanese ceramics.
