Vintage Japanese Ikebana Flower Vase (SKU 25D-332-2-3)
Textured Heisei-era stoneware vase with flowing incised wave motif and original signed tomobako box
This rounded vintage Japanese vase showcases a richly worked glaze surface that moves from deep iron-brown and charcoal at the shoulder to warm earthy tones and olive around the body. The heavily textured, almost cratered finish catches the light beautifully, while the interior is finished in a contrasting smooth dark glaze for a refined, functional touch.
Encircling the body is an elegant, hand-incised linear design that suggests flowing water or wind, a classic modern interpretation of traditional Japanese wave patterns. Signed to the base and accompanied by its calligraphed wooden tomobako storage box, this 1990s Heisei-era piece is ideal as a sculptural object or as a distinctive ikebana flower vase in a contemporary or wabi-sabi interior.
