Vintage Japanese Jubako Tiered Box (SKU 25D-061)

Showa-era four-tier jubako with speckled green and vermilion lacquer and original kiri-wood storage case

This handsome vintage jubako (tiered food box) dates from the mid-Showa period and features a striking speckled lacquer in earthy green and warm vermilion tones. The four perfectly stacked tiers create a clean, modern silhouette, while the softly rounded corners and subtle black dividing lines speak to traditional Japanese design sensibilities.

Inside, each tier is finished in a rich vermilion red, ideal for presenting osechi ryori, seasonal dishes, or sweets at gatherings. The set comes complete with its original fitted wooden kiribako storage case, making it both a functional serving piece and an attractive addition to a collection of Japanese lacquerware.

As part of our mission to preserve and share Japanese craftsmanship, we offer antiques that were made not just to be admired, but to be used. These pieces were crafted for everyday life, and we honor their purpose by ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed and lived with today.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
